always where the wild things are…

Failure is a hard thing to deal with, feeling as though you are a ‘failure’ is such a horrible emotion. Society has taught us that failure is something bad.  Throughout the years, with the help of school and what other people around us tell us, we develop a fear of failure. Even though I am only seventeen I would say I have dealt with a fair share of failure. I have learnt a few life lessons on the basis of failing. Instead of all the negativity around failing I was to start using my failure as a spring board for becoming more grateful and for a chance to grow.

Human beings are their own worst critics. Fear of failure, fear of the opinion of others, fear and lack of self-confidence, are some of the invisible blocks you set up as barriers in success.
“Everything you want is on the other side of fear.”  - Jack Canfield
Failure means GROWTH. Every failure is a lessoned learned. When we fail, we adapt and mature. We reach an understandings about our lives and why we’re doing the things that we’re doing. Failure allows reflection and reflection stimulates improvement. Life is not perfect and would it even mean anything if you didn’t face any bumps in the road?

Failing means you are trying! Trust me when I say if you have yet to fail then you aren’t trying very hard.  The best way is to measure how far you have come and what you have achieved is to count the amount of times you have failed. It really puts everything into perspective. If you really want something you have to fail to know how much you really want it.
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” - Thomas A. Edison
Failure adds to your character, you become stronger person. Every time you fail you develop a thicker skin, and as sad as this is, a thick skin is needed to survive in this world. Every time you fail you become more habituated to it. You begin to realise that failure is not the end of the world. There is life beyond failing. You developed the ability to handle things that you never would have been able to  to handle previously.

As society, I feel we need to move on from this mind-set that failure means you fucked up. There have been so many times when I had to ask myself, how can I even make it past this? My life is over! Life goes on, the world keep spinning and you keep breathing.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.” - Henry Ford
Every failure you have is a step closer to your success.

Thank you,
Until next time
  1. Literally just found your blog and this post already has me hooked! Failure is something I'm terrified of. I've even gotten to a point where I don't even want to try something for fear of failing. But I like how you say that failure means you are trying. That makes me feel a lot better!

    1. Welcome to wildishly! I really do belive that it is time to change the perpective on failure needs to be flipped to a more posative view!
