ESSENTIAL STUDY TIPS

| On
11/08/2015

So, in December I am going to face my first set of PPE (Pre-Public Exams) or mocks as some people call them. Over my years in education, I have found that I have a studying type. I study best a certain type of way. I have also gathered some tips to help not only with revsion but studying all year round!
. As I have recently finished my AS and now moving on to the much complicated A2, I figure I would give some tips on exactly how to survive A-level. Trust me you need this.

STAY ON TOP OF THE WORK.
Do not fall behind on assignments / coursework. Seriously do it and get it done, if you fall behind you are fuckkkd (pardon my language but it is true). My tip is to keep a dairy or a note on your wall of all your deadlines so you never forget them.

START REVISION EARLY.
It’s amazing how time runs away from you, one minute its September and you have the whole syllabus in front of you then BAM it’s May and you don’t even remember studying Bowlby’s theory of attachment. My fantastic A* achieving best friend suggest that you start making notes around December time to keep you with revision on each subject.

WORK HARD PLAY HARD
A-levels are hard work, but it important that they don’t become the main thing in your life (trust me it is very easy that this will happen, they sneak up on you). Make time to make new friends, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy your hobbies. But Gabby, how do I achieve all of this and not die from lack of sleep I hear you ask? Well my suggestion would be to complete all homework set for the following week on the day that you get it! Therefore you have the weekends free for recreational actives. Don’t procrastinate, just get it done!

THE SPECIFICATION WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND
Each of your subjects has an exam board, each exam board gives a spec on what exactly you need to learn for each of your subjects. These spec will be the only friend you need during the lead up to exams. Using it as a checklist will make sure you know exactly what you need to know and essentially what will in your exams!

Let me know if these tips where helpful in anyway shape or form!
Thank you for reading!
